NT$100 note The NT$100 note issued in 2001 has a main color of red and a size of 145mm x 70mm. The obverse highlights a portrait of Dr. Sun, Yat-sen. Two precious examples of Dr. Sun's calligraphy "Love of Mankind" and "The Great Commonwealth from the Book of Rites" form the background, exemplifying his ideal that "The world is for all mankind." The relief carving next to the portrait, appropriately named "Close to the People", illustrates Dr. Sun's amiability. The Chungshan Grand Hall forms the main design on the reverse and the plum blossoms are on the right.

NT$200 note The NT$200 note issued in 2002 has a main color of green and a size of 150mm x 70mm. The obverse highlights a portrait of the Late President Chiang, Kai-shek. The pictures of a farmer harvesting the rice crop and a group of students studying form the background, exemplifying President Chiang's great achievements in land and education reforms. The Presidential Building forms the main design on the reverse with orchids on the right.

New NT$500 note The NT$500 note, issued in 2005 with the same motif and dimensions as those of the NT$500 note issued in 2000, has the following additional authentication features:
1. The main color is changed from reddish coffee to dark coffee.
2. Optical variable device stripe with holographic image is added on the front.
3. The color shift of window thread is changed to the optical variable device with holographic image and the thread is moved to the back.
4. The figure of denomination on the back is printed with optical variable ink shifting from gold to green.
5. The fluorescent patters are added on the front and back sides.

New NT$1000 noteThe NT$1000 note, issued in 2005 with the same motif and dimensions as those of the NT$1000 note issued in 2000, has the following additional authentication features:

NT$2000 noteThe NT$2000 note issued in 2002 has a main color of purple and a size of 165mm x 70mm. The design exemplifies technological and economic development, local scenery, wild life and environmental protection in Taiwan. The obverse highlights Satellite dishes, ROCSAT-1 Satellite (the first satellite launched by Taiwan) and the Taipei World Trade Center with biochemical and electronic patterns in the background. The rare and greatly cherished Taiwan Salmon forms the main design on the reverse alongside Mt. Nanhu and a drawing of pine needles.
